  1. SOP TIMELINES

  1. OFFICE SOPs

Demand for safe passenger transport is derived from the required movement to places of work, markets, and other activities.

To achieve mandatory social distancing recommendations inside Silver Fleet vehicles, the vehicle occupancy at any given point of time should be less than one-third (1/3) the vehicle’s seating capacity on a normal day. As we transport our staff we will endeavor to achieve this by;

  • Sanitisation and staff monitoring

Mandatorily all persons entering the premises will be required to sanitise their hands at the main gate before being given access.
A daily morning meeting will also be held to confirm the state of the team and follow up with any possible cases of staff that haven’t been able to make it to work.

  • Promoting work from home for all possible staff sections

Teleworking practices practiced during the lockdown period have become the most effective tool in the effort to curb travel demand. Crucial sections of the organisation have been able to continue delivering their functions even without requiring travel to the office.
This is a practice that will be encouraged within our team for the next 3 months to avoid a revived wave of infection.

  • Staggered working days & Reduced Staff on Site

Critical offices that are unable to function without office access will see reduced numbers to achieve social distancing within the workforce and maintain a rotation-based system to reduce the number of staff working at adjacent workstations.

  1. SOPs for 5, 7 & 28 SEATER VEHICLES

Vehicle occupancy will be controlled as shown below;

1-2 passengers   3-4 passengers     *5-14 passengers

Making use of available options to increase the supply of vehicles in high  demand sections

Disinfecting of all vehicles after completion of a trip will be practiced on a routine basis

Provision for marking of seats to maintain social distancing in mass transport  vehicles

Use of air conditioning will be avoided as it can help the virus survive for longer periods

  1. SOPs for PASSENGERS

Mandatory for all passengers to cover their mouth with a face mask in compliance with Uganda Ministry of Health guidelines

Use the marked seats and keep the recommended social distance between themselves and the other passengers in the vehicle

  1. SOPs for DRIVERS

  1. BETTER INFORMATION SHARING WITH PASSENGERS AND COMMUNICATION WITH STAFF

Ensuring the protection of drivers and passengers is an important measure in maintaining the confidence in passenger transport. These measures shall therefore be effectively and adequately communicated to all concerned personnel.

Information for passengers on standards of conduct shall be shared through various channels such as through the different client liaison officers, bulletins and copies held in the vehicles.

Furthermore Silver Fleet will ensure effective communication channels are maintained between the drivers and the Service Control Centre. The drivers crew shall be continuously trained and retrained on these SOPs and other safety precautions.
